Hewlett-Packard (HP) sells a Compaq basic unit system at $1099 and an upgraded version at $1699. HPs upgrade prices are $30 for an 80-gigabyte hard drive, $70 for a 512-megabyte RAM, and $500 for a 21-inch monitor. Five basic units will cost $5495, 3 basic units and 2 upgraded units will cost $6695, 3 basic units with monitor upgrades and 2 fully upgraded units will cost $6785, and 5 fully upgraded units will cost $8495. When systems are purchased from HP, a 3 year parts and labor warranty and 3 years on-site service is offered.
